Post a job

Use this when you want several quotes. 1. On Home, tap Post a job. 2. Pick the service, describe the job and say when you need it. Recurring service is an option. 3. Optional: choose up to 2 things that matter most to you (quality, timing, value, communication or cleanliness). Tendwell uses them when deciding which matching pros hear about your job first. 4. Optional: add up to 4 photos. 5. Tap Post job and get quotes. Tendwell alerts matching local pros a few at a time, until you have up to 5 quotes or there are no more matching pros. Pros you already use don't see the post.

Your name and contact details stay private until you choose a pro. If 3 days go by with no new quote, you'll see a short note. Tap Close to new quotes any time; the quotes you already have stay valid. A post closes to new quotes on its own after 7 days, and Reopen for 7 more days opens it again.

Compare and choose a quote

  1. Once you have two or more quotes, open your job post and tap Compare quotes.
  2. The summary at the top lists the lowest price, the highest rated pro and the soonest opening. Ties are shown as ties, and Tendwell doesn't recommend a pro. Below it, each quote shows the price, any deposit, the earliest opening on the pro's calendar, rating, badges, license status and what's included.
  3. Tap Ask a question to ask the pro something first. Your name stays private. When you're ready, tap Choose this pro.
  4. Pick the first day and time. Make it weekly, every 2 weeks or monthly if you want.
  5. Tap Accept & book to confirm at the quoted price. It's now in My Services.

Book a visit

Use this when you already know which pro you want. 1. On the pro's profile, tap Book a visit. 2. Pick the service, a day and an open time. Times are Pacific time, within the pro's open hours. 3. Choose one time, weekly, every 2 weeks or monthly. 4. Add notes for the pro, such as gate codes or pets. 5. Tap Request booking. The pro confirms, and you'll see who's coming.

No payment is taken in the app yet. You pay the pro directly.

Request and approve a quote

  1. On the pro's profile, tap Request a quote.
  2. Describe the work, say when works for you and add up to 5 photos if you like.
  3. Tap Send request. This pro gets it first. When they quote, pass, or don't respond within 48 hours, Tendwell also invites other matching local pros, ranked by ratings and responsiveness, so you can compare up to 5 quotes.
  4. When a quote arrives, tap the notification to open it. Check the line items, tax, total and any deposit.
  5. Tap Approve quote, Ask a question or Decline. You can also tap Download PDF.
  6. To approve, type your full name, check the box to agree to the pro's terms and tap Approve and sign. The pro is notified right away.
  7. Tap Pick a start date to book the work at the approved price.

If a quote has a deposit, paying it in the app is coming soon. For now, pay the pro directly.

Skip a visit and visit reports

  1. In My Services, find the series under Manage and tap View series.
  2. Tap Skip on the date you'll be away. The pro sees it too. Tap Unskip to undo.
  3. To end a recurring service, tap Cancel series on the same screen.

After a visit, the pro can send a visit report: what they did, before-and-after photos and tips. Find it under Visit reports in My Services or in your notifications.

Ratings and reviews

  1. In My Services, under Past visits, tap Rate this visit.
  2. Rate timeliness, cleanliness, quality, communication and value from 1 to 5 stars.
  3. Optional: add quick tags and a short written review, up to 500 characters. Please don't include addresses or phone numbers.
  4. Tap Post review. Your review shows on the pro's profile with your first name and last initial.

The pro can post one public reply to each review. If a review breaks the rules, tap Report and Tendwell's team will take a look. You can edit your own review from My Services.

Pros rate customers too, privately. You see only your average, once two jobs are rated. After 5 rated jobs, good ratings can earn you customer badges, shown in Profile.

My Neighbors

  1. In Profile, tap My Neighbors.
  2. Accept or decline neighbor requests. You're connected only when both of you accept. Declining is private, and either of you can remove the other at any time without them being notified.
  3. Under Pros you share, turn on each pro you want your neighbors to see. Sharing is off until you turn it on, and neighbors see only the pro's name and the stars you gave.
  4. To add a neighbor, enter their email and tap Send invite, or tap Copy an invite link and send it yourself.
  5. On a pro's profile, you'll see how many of your neighbors used them. Tap Recommend to a neighbor to send them a notification with a link to the profile.

There's no chat, and Tendwell never shares your address, prices or job details with neighbors.
